Your Google data
Every permission BriefMia can ask your Google account for, what each one is used for, and how to remove it. This page adds detail to our privacy policy.

The short version
- Signing in shares only your name, email address and photo. Calendar, Gmail and Drive stay off until you connect them.
- Each permission is used only for the feature you turned on.
- Your Google data is never sold, never used for ads and never used to train general AI models.
- People do not read it without your agreement, except for security or when the law requires.
- Remove access any time at myaccount.google.com/connections (opens in a new tab).

How we ask
BriefMia asks Google for permissions one step at a time. Signing in needs only your basic profile. Each further permission is requested only when you turn on the feature that uses it, on Google’s own consent screen, and every permission you have already given is kept when you add another.
The sections below list every permission (Google calls them scopes) the app can ask for, with the exact scope name, when it is asked for, and what it is used for.

Google Drive

Limited Use
BriefMia’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (opens in a new tab), including the Limited Use requirements.
In practice this means:
- We use Google data only to provide and improve the features you can see and turn on in the app.
- We do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide those features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or sale with your data protected the same way.
- We do not use it for advertising, including personalised, retargeted or interest-based ads.
- We do not use it to train general AI or machine learning models.
- People do not read it, unless you ask us to and agree (for example to look into a problem you report), it is needed for security (such as investigating abuse), it is required by law, or the data has been made anonymous and combined for internal operations.
AI and your Google data
When you ask the assistant about your plans, mail or files, the parts it needs are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write the answer. Anthropic processes it only to return that reply and, according to its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. We never use your Google data to train any AI model ourselves.
Text the assistant reads from your mail or files is treated as information, never as instructions. Changes it proposes, such as sending an email, are shown to you to confirm unless you have allowed that kind of change.
Storage and security
- The tokens Google issues are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are stored, and are never included in exports.
- Calendar events are stored in your account so your brief and agenda load quickly, and are refreshed when you sync. Mail and files are not copied: they are fetched when you ask, and only what is used in an answer is kept in that chat.
- Your data is kept apart from every other account by row level security in the database.
Removing access
You can take back any permission whenever you like:
- Remove BriefMia from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/connections (opens in a new tab). This ends every permission at once.
- Disconnect Gmail or Drive from the assistant in Settings › Connections.
- Delete your account in Settings › Account. We delete your Google tokens and ask Google to end the access you gave. See delete your data.
